Contest #1: Win a Free Game from GOG.com

This is our first contest so let's see how it goes.

I want to encourage member activity, so if we can manage to get at least 50 people to register for the site and be active in the forum and comments, I'll give one lucky user a game of their choice from GOG.com's catalogue of over 240 games.

There are some awesome games available, including Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, The Witcher: Director's Cut, Earthworm Jim 1 + 2, Fallout 2, Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition and more. We need to reach at least 50 active members before a winner can be drawn, though, so tell your friends, enemies and frenemies to sign up and post.

Important information regarding the contest is located on the next page. Everything you need to know is there, so click over and read it now.

Contest Details

  • I will randomly draw one winner from the users list on the day that I notice that The 34th Dimension has 50 or more active users.

  • In order to be eligible to win you must be registered for an account with The 34th Dimension, have made five or more posts tallied from both the forum and comments, and have signed in with your account within 48 hours of the draw.

  • The winner may select one game from GOG.com's catalogue with a maximum value of $9.99, because I'm not made of money. This naturally excludes all editions of The Witcher 2.

  • The prize is of one game only! The winner may not choose two or more games that total $9.99 in price and the prize cannot be exchanged for cash or anything else.

  • The winner will be notified immediately after the draw via The 34th Dimension's own private messaging system. He or she will not be contacted by any other means, including e-mail.

  • Upon first notification of winning the contest, the winner must select and redeam his or her prize within one week or else a secondary drawing will be held and the prize will go to the runner-up.

  • The winner must have an account registered with GOG.com in order to receive their prize.

Grounds for Disqualification

  • User's will be disqualified from the contest if they register for more than one account with The 34th Dimension. As a rule we only allow one account per person and holding more than one account is grounds for a warning and the deletion of all extraneous accounts during normal times. During a contest, all of the perpetrator's accounts will be deleted and they will be banned from ever registering for the site again.

  • Spamming the forum and comments in order to reach the necessary post count to be eligible for winning will also result in your disqualification. It's not hard to make five reasonable, intelligent posts, so this is a stupid reason to get yourself kicked out of the contest.

  • All users with author accounts are ineligible to win. That includes myself, Psycho Gorilla, Realmwalker, Supernova and Daniel B., even if they have been inactive for the past year or have never posted anything at all *cough*Supernova*cough*.

  • All other reasons for disqualification or ineligibility are at the discretion of myself only. This means that I can disqualify anyone for any reason, so don't try to game the system or sneak around the rules I've laid out here. I'll be fair if you play nicely.

GOG.com is not affiliated with this promotion, although I did receive their team's permission before setting up the contest. Do not contact GOG.com for further details regarding the contest.

If you need any more information, e-mail me at webmaster@34thdimension.com or (preferably) send me a private message.

Interesting site. Pretty nice layout, and unusual sense of humour. Also, nothing like the chance of winning a game :)
